Kandy

Kandy is Sri Lanka's last royal capital and its cultural heart, set around a peaceful lake in the central hills. It's home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism's most important sites, along with botanical gardens, traditional dance performances and hillside tea shops. It's also Aruna's home city, so a Kandy stop usually comes with a few extra local recommendations you won't find in a guidebook.
