Named for its jagged peaks resembling a clenched fist, the Knuckles mountain range is a UNESCO-listed cloud forest reserve far less visited than Ella or Nuwara Eliya. It's the pick for travelers who want genuine trekking — misty forest trails, waterfalls and villages that see very few outside visitors. Best suited to guests with a day or two to spare and a taste for the outdoors.
